Phases of the Moon, the newsletter of the Maine NVC Network
Volume Five, Issue Five:
Can NVC influence our physical health? (Part 2)

Our newsletter appears once a month around the time of the full moon. Our purpose is to contribute to the NVC learning of people who have taken at least an NVC Level 1 workshop, and help us stay connected as we endeavor to deepen a culture of peace within ourselves, our families and the world. We believe a Level 1 offers so many new ways of thinking that additional support for learning and integration could be helpful.

We endeavor to make each edition informative, connecting, inspiring and fun. Please let us know how the newsletter might contribute to your NVC well-being.

Our feature article this month is the second part of a two-part radio interview. The first part was featured in our January issue.

Can NVC influence our physical health?

On February 5, 2014, Peggy Smith, CNVC certified NVC trainer, and Dr. Terry Cookson, ND, LAc (Naturopathic Physician, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Chinese Herbalist, & Homeopath) were interviewed on WERU-FM Community Radio’s talk show Healthy Options. This is a continuation of the interview which was featured in January. This interview explores Empathy within the context of NVC and how it can effect our physical, mental & spiritual health as well as our relationships with others. The interview is archived and we offer it as this month’s feature. You can listen to it here.

Quote of the Month

"At some point, we need to stop identifying with our weaknesses and shift our allegiance to our basic goodness. It’s highly beneficial to understand that our limitations are not absolute and monolithic, but relative and removable. The wisdom of . . . our innate . . . nature is available to us at any time."
– Pema Chodron, No Time to Lose, p.334
